1. Who we are

Print & Pane is operated by George Schon trading as Print & Pane, a sole trader based in England, 21 Chester Rd, Poole, BH13 6DE. You can contact us at hello@printandpane.com.

2. What we sell

Print & Pane creates personalised art prints generated from a photograph you supply, using AI image generation technology, and delivered as a framed print, unframed print, or digital download. Portraits are produced using AI tools (including Google's Gemini models) rather than hand-drawn by an artist. We're upfront about this because we think the result speaks for itself — we're not going to pretend otherwise.

3. Placing an order

You upload one or more photographs of your subject, choose a style, size and frame option, and review your proof before it's printed. For framed and unframed prints, we generate your artwork after you've approved a preview. Payment is taken at checkout, before the final print file is produced.

4. Your photo — what you're allowed to submit

By uploading a photograph, you confirm that:

you own the photo or have the right to use it (it's yours, or you have permission from whoever took it)
if you're submitting a photo of a pet, house, or object, it doesn't need to (and shouldn't) include identifiable people's faces — we ask that you crop or select photos accordingly, since we don't want to process facial data we don't need to
you won't upload anything illegal, offensive, or that infringes someone else's rights

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order if a submitted photo doesn't meet these requirements.

5. Cancellation rights and personalised goods

Printed products

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b), goods that are "made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalised" are exempt from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right. Every print is made from your own photograph, in the style, size and frame you chose, so it falls squarely inside that exemption.

Digital files

Different rule, and we'd rather be straight about it. A digital file is digital content, not goods, and it is covered by regulation 37 rather than regulation 28. That means we only lose the cancellation right on a digital file if, before we send it, you expressly consent to us supplying it straight away and acknowledge that doing so ends your right to cancel.

You'll be asked to tick both at the point of purchase. If we haven't asked you, you keep the right to cancel and you pay nothing for the file.

This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — if your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as normal (see our Returns & Refunds Policy).

On top of your legal rights, we offer two things voluntarily, free of charge:

Unlimited proof revisions before you approve the final artwork
One free re-work after delivery if you're not happy with the likeness — we'll make you another — plus a free reprint if there's a genuine quality fault

6. Pricing and payment

All prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at the point of order via Shopify's checkout. We do not offer discount codes or sitewide sales; any multi-print discounts are applied automatically at checkout and are never advertised as a "saving."

7. Delivery

Prints are fulfilled by our print partner and shipped from the UK. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and in your order confirmation. Digital downloads are delivered via a secure, time-limited link sent by email.

8. Intellectual property

The prompt library, house styles, and generation process used to create your artwork are our trade secret and remain our property. You own the physical print or digital file you purchase, for personal use. You may not resell, redistribute, or use the artwork commercially without our written permission.

We can't guarantee that the artwork generated for you is unique — AI generation may produce similar outputs for other customers, and the current legal position on copyright in AI-generated images is unsettled in the UK.
